my husband likes boots, but not cats.

I have three brothers and they are each so very different from the other. Meet the youngest of my brothers, Cale, whom I affectionately call, "Calebabe". He's expressive and sensitive and loves the rugged, wild land and culture of the Northwest. He loves the earthy and untamed as well as the elegant and refined.
He constantly inspires me with his gentle love for humanity, despite all its quirks and stains. He is forgiving and forbearing. He is empathetic and perceptive.
Pacific City + iPhone
I got to spend a lovely, sunny day at Pacific City on the Oregon Coast this past week! Talk about gorgeous! One of my dear friends and I got to traipse about on the cliffs, exploring and marveling at the staggering beauty of it all.
Disclaimer of sorts: These are pictures from my trusty iPhone—nothin special.

Sydney! What a stunningly, poised young woman you are! It was such a joy to spend the most beautiful part of the day with such a lovely young woman as you! Thank you for being so willing to play around, giggle and trying new things! I hope that your senior year is a sweet and thrilling.
Pickling Cucumbers.
Well, my kitchen experiments continue with a chapter on dill pickles. During our dating relationship, my husband introduced me to a very special sort of sandwich—one to which, apparently, every Reavely is particularly partial. As an aspiring Reavely, I was quick to join the pickle-mayo & peanut-butter sandwich enthusiasts. That is, after I overcame my natural skepticism of the Reavely tradition.
I have come to crave these strange sandwiches, typically between the hours of 3am and 6am. Ever since my sister-in-law gave me the book, Food In Jars, I have been eager to test these pickles on our special sandwich! Our late night snacking just got more epic.
If you would like to try your hand at home-made pickles, here is the recipe I used!
